Grading Requirements
Thunder Bay Judo Dojo requires all of its members to have a complete understanding of judo techniques and principles to maintain a high standard of competence. Click on the any of the PDF links below to see the syllabus used for grading of coloured belts. It goes without saying that you must remember all previously learned techniques when earning more advanced belts, so make sure to review your techniques!
For junior members:
11th kyu (White) to 10th kyu (White-Yellow)
10th kyu (White-Yellow) to 9th kyu (Yellow)
9th kyu (Yellow) to 8th kyu (Yellow-Orange)
8th kyu (Yellow-Orange) to 7th kyu (Orange)
7th kyu (Orange) to 6th kyu (Orange-Green)
6th kyu (Orange-Green) to 5th kyu (Green)
5th kyu (Green) to 4th kyu (Green-Blue)
4th kyu (Green-Blue) to 3rd kyu (Blue)
All of the Gokyo-no-waza, ie. all standing techniques covered in judo
