A special announcement goes to sensei Pat for receiving the Rush Mitani Award at the tournament. She received it for her 30 years of Judo training and outstanding contribution to the sport in northwestern Ontario. This award is in memory of Rush Mitani who is considered the Father of Judo in northwestern Ontario, and its first presentation was in 1952. Sensei Pat is the first woman to ever receive this prestigious award, and in our eyes absolutely deserve it. Congratulations sensei!
